Thread
- All collars use nylon thread, chosen for its strength, durability, and resistance to wear. This ensures that your collar holds up through everyday use, even in tough conditions.
- To further reinforce the webbing, we use an X box stitch at key points. This technique, where the stitching forms an "X" pattern, helps to distribute stress evenly across the collar, providing extra durability and preventing the webbing from coming loose. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference in ensuring your dog's collar stays secure and reliable!
Fabric
- Recycled Canvas: Made from 50% REPREVE® recycled polyester and 50% polyester, this fabric is both durable and eco-friendly. It holds up better against the elements than cotton and is perfect for seasonal outdoor use. Simply machine wash in cool water on a gentle cycle.
- Lightweight Cotton Twill: This 100% cotton fabric is more structured and durable than typical quilting fabrics, making it a great choice for collars. We are slowly phasing this out in favor of Recycled Canvas fabric option.
- Batik and Other 100% Cotton: Occasionally, we use cotton when a unique pattern or design is unavailable in other fabric types. While softer, cotton still provides a great option for collars when needed.
Note on Washing Your Fabric Dog Collar:
To keep your fabric dog collar fresh and clean, we recommend hand washing with mild phosphate-free detergent soap and cool/warm water. Gently scrub the fabric using a soft brush or cloth, then rinse thoroughly. Gently brush through minky, avoiding scrubbing, if your collar is minky-lined. Avoid machine washing or using harsh detergents, as this may affect the collar’s fabric or hardware. Allow the collar to air dry completely before use.
Taking a little extra care will help maintain the collar's durability and appearance, so your dog can continue looking their best!
